Vision

"Give students with learning differences the skills and strategies to succeed."

Our Students

Since its founding in 1973, Hill School of Fort Worth has provided an optimal educational environment for students who learn differently, and who are of average or above average intelligence. While there is no "typical" Hill School student, our students have been diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, auditory processing disorders, and other learning hurdles. Some of our students have had no specific diagnosis, but have chosen Hill School with its smaller classes and more individualized setting to better meet their learning needs.

Instructing Individuals

Hill School has adopted the "School Attuned" concepts of the All Kinds of Minds Institute. These methods help us identify the way a student processes information. By identifying recurrent themes in learning and performance, we are able to create an individualized management plan for each child. The student gains insight and language to more effectively deal with strengths and weaknesses.

Curriculum and instructional practices incorporate a variety of activities to accommodate learning differences. In essence, the school adapts instructional methods to the child's learning style. Our staff/child ratio of 1:7 insures that no child is lost in the crowd.

Our Place In The Community

Hill School has been named a School of Distinction by the All Kinds of Minds Institute. The designation came about as a result of an extensive screening and evaluation program which recognized Hill School for its commitment to teacher training and on-going excellence in serving the individual needs of students. A non-profit organization founded in 1973, Hill has expanded to a fully accredited second through twelfth grade campus for different learners in Fort Worth, and a first through seventh grade campus in Grapevine, with eighth grade to be added in fall 2010.

Balancing Student Life

Hill School focuses on the student's intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. In addition to our academic program, we offer numerous opportunities for a well-rounded school experience. Athletics, creative arts, extracurricular clubs and organizations enrich student life and provide creative and physical outlets. Through the TCAF (Texas Christian Athletic Association), Hill's high school students compete against other private schools in various sports.

Changing Lives

Hill School exists to make the lives of different learners better, and to empower them to take their talents to the world around them. We foster an atmosphere of mutual respect among students and staff, enhancing the student's self-esteem and leading them toward their potential. We see our students succeeding--in school and in life.
