Curriculum
Hill School offers complete academic programs for students 7 to 18 years of age who are functioning at the second through twelfth grade instructional levels.

The curriculum includes: an integrated language arts block (Reading, English, and Written Expression), mathematics, social studies, science, physical education, computer reinforcement, computer instruction, art, music, study skills, and an integrated self-discipline program with emphasis on building a healthy self-esteem. Our curriculum is correlated with the Essential Elements of the State Board of Education of Texas and includes state-adopted textbooks.

Academic work is modified to accommodate each student's instructional level of achievement; therefore a student may be above, at or below grade level for each subject area. Teachers help every child strive for excellence at his or her level. Additionally, special programs constructed for specific student needs are available.

At all grade levels emphasis is placed on the total child. Hill School teaches values by emphasizing character education. Emphasis is placed not only on academics, but also on self-esteem, study skills, self-discipline, peer relationships, and self-control. We teach respect and responsibility for self, others, authority figures, and property. We teach students to have appropriate social relationships by using a respectful attitude with peers and teachers.

Class Size
The pupil-teacher ratio is 7:1. Small class size allows teachers to individualize instruction, meeting the needs of each student in a caring, nurturing environment. Classes are grouped according to instructional levels with consideration of special needs for math and language arts groupings.
