Financial Aid

Hill School strives to make our specialized educational opportunities as affordable as possible to a diverse group of students. Typically 20% of students attending Hill School receive scholarship assistance; our average award is approximately $6,000. Hill School receives need-based financial assistance recommendations from Smart Tuition Aid. Their processing department will objectively determine need based on a family’s financial situation (total income of parents, family size, medical expenses, number of children in tuition-charging schools, etc.) and process supporting documentation including tax returns, W-2’s and any other special circumstances.

Families may apply for financial assistance online at www.smartaidforparents.com. Applications are accompanied by a $35 application fee, payable to SmartTuitionAid; please remember to use Hill School’s code (12516) in order to have the School receive a copy of the report. While the applications for financial aid and for admission may be submitted at the same time, the decisions are independent of each other. Once students have been accepted for admission, a financial aid decision is communicated. Please contact our Business Office for additional details and assistance in starting the online application process: Mary Babione, mbabione@hillschool.org.

Apply for financial aid online using the Smart Tuition Aid Analysis.

Financing Your Hill School Education

Potential Tax Deduction?
Families may want to consult IRS Publication 502, Medical and Dental Expenses and IRS Publication 907, Tax Information for Persons with Disabilities and their tax advisers. Some families with dependents who attend specialized schools for medical reasons may be able, with a doctor’s recommendation, to deduct tuition as a medical expense on their income taxes. This can be a significant deduction for families with already high out-of-pocket medical expenses. Please consult your tax advisor as only you and your tax adviser can decide whether this applies to you.
