Hill School Announces Plan to Add Middle School to Grapevine Campus
School for Students with Learning Differences to Expand Seventh, Eighth grade
What—Hill School, a full-service school in Grapevine for first- through sixth-grade students with learning differences, announced plans to expand by adding a middle school within two years. Students entering seventh grade may now enroll for the upcoming 2009-10 school year. An eighth-grade class will be added at the start of the 2010-2011 school year.
Why—Hill School is the premier school in Tarrant County that specializes in educating students with learning differences. The addition of the middle school at the Grapevine campus, which opened its doors at the start of the 2007-2008 school year in temporary facilities, is a sign of the growing demand for small group learning in which Hill School specializes. Hill School is located at 204 N. Dooley and serves 70 students.
Officials at Hill School anticipate the expansion plan will add two new faculty positions next year to serve approximately 90 students. There are 70 students currently enrolled at the Grapevine campus. With the addition of the eighth grade, Hill School in Grapevine will serve about 110 students.
There are no plans to add a high school at the Grapevine campus.
Contact—Kathy Edwards, principal of Hill School, is available for interviews to discuss the plans for expansion and the impact the Grapevine school has on its students and the community.
