Hill School Students Perform Holiday Musical at Cook Children's
Elementary students to perform "I Need a Christmas Vacation"
Fort Worth, Texas—Elementary students from Hill School, an innovative non-profit school that teaches students with learning differences, will perform their holiday musical "I Need a Christmas Vacation," at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, in the medical center atrium.
This fun musical tells a story of students trapped in school during an unexpected snowstorm, who learn valuable lessons about friendship and the meaning of Christmas.
Since October, sixty-six students from grades two through six have been rehearsing, with the assistance of Hill High School student tech crews. The 45-minute musical, written by John Jacobson and Mac Huff, provides an exciting opportunity for Hill students to share their holiday joy with Cook Children's patients, their families and hospital staff.
Hill School students present a holiday musical each year, and the collaboration between the high school and elementary school provides opportunities for service for both age groups. Music, theater and art are crucial elements in the Hill School mission -- helping students with learning disabilities thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Students will also perform the musical for students, teachers and parents at special assemblies on Thursday, Dec. 11 at the school at 4817 Odessa.
