Laura Casper-Teague

Head of School

Dr. Laura Casper-Teague came to Hill School in 2025 as our Head of School. With more than 22 years of experience in education, Dr. Casper-Teague is a passionate advocate for student success, inclusive practices, and the power of a connected school community. Her leadership is grounded in a deep commitment to meeting the individual needs of all learners and fostering environments where every student can thrive. Known for her collaborative approach and forward-thinking vision, Dr. Casper-Teague brings both warmth and expertise to her role at Hill School.

Kimberly Helixon

Assistant Principal

Kimberly Helixon brings more than 30 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership to her role as Assistant Principal at Hill School. She previously served the school community from 1999 to 2004 as a math teacher, department chair, and division leader, and returned in 2022 to continue her impact as The Dean of Student Success, before being named Assistant Principal in 2026. Ms. Helixon holds undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, and her professional background includes curriculum development, implementation, and a deep understanding of diverse learning profiles. Her passion for supporting all learners is evident in her work with a wide range of student populations, including gifted education, dropout prevention, STAAR remediation, AP, and adult education. She is committed to fostering academic growth and celebrating the strengths of every student.

Shelvy Arberry

Director of Athletics

Shelvy Arberry joined the Hill School family in 2016, as a coach and PE teacher. Now as the Director of Athletics, Coach Arberry looks forward to growing the athletic department while helping young athletes reach their full potential. With a Bachelors degree in Human Behavior from Harding University, and a former DII athlete himself, Coach Arberry is dedicated to teaching students how to live active, healthy, and balanced lifestyles. In his free time, you can find him cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and San Francisco 49ers, playing basketball, or working on a jigsaw puzzle.

Michelle Frantz

Front Desk & Student Records Manager; Varsity Cheer Coach

Michelle Frantz joined Hill School in 2004 and continues to love the close-knit, family atmosphere. She’ll tell you that “the students and their families are awesome, and the faculty and staff are great to work with!” One of her favorite roles is coaching the cheer squad, where every season brings new energy, excitement, and plenty of memorable moments—“there’s never a dull moment at Hill!” Outside of school, Mrs. Frantz enjoys spending time with her three children and grandchildren, often going on fun adventures together. Be sure to ask her about GI Jane Day. Throwing a grenade was one of the highlights!

Abbey Griffin

Director of College & Career Counseling

With over 20 years’ experience in school settings, ranging from middle school counseling to college admission, Abbey Griffin joined Hill School several years ago as the Director of College and Career Counseling. She is passionate about “helping students along their journey to find the best match for their college or career!” Mrs. Griffin earned her undergraduate degree in English from Texas Wesleyan University, where she met her husband, a realtor and percussionist. Together, they have a son at the University of Oklahoma and a daughter in elementary school.

Katelyn Hoggatt

School Counselor

With a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech and a dual Master’s degree in School and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University, Katelyn Hoggatt is our dedicated and knowledgeable School Counselor. Currently an LPC Associate under the supervision of Amy Kirchoff, LPC-S, Ms. Hoggatt is in her third year here at Hill School. She is passionate about providing support and guidance to students in a safe and inclusive environment. In her free time, Ms. Hoggatt enjoys thrifting, watching reality TV, and spending time at home!

Phillip Howley

Director of Technology

Phillip Howley joined Hill School’s administrative team in 2008 as our Technology Director. From his first days, Mr. Howley has been a student favorite and he enjoys the family atmosphere of Hill School – “it’s more than just a school community.” Mr. Howley’s previous work experiences at Renweb in training and support made him a natural fit for Hill. Since its inception in 2009, Mr. Howley has been instrumental in developing Hill’s 1:1 Technology Integration Initiative. Mr. Howley enjoys the small part of his day that he can be in the classroom with his media students and in his spare time, he spends time with his family doing outdoor activities.

Alexandra Olson

Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management

When you join the Hill School family, one of the first people you’ll meet is Alexandra Olson, our Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management. Mrs. Olson became part of our team in 2024, bringing with her a decade of experience working with children and families in the foster care system. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Services from Oklahoma State University and is eager to share her expertise to help families discover the exceptional learning opportunities Hill School offers. Outside of her role supporting Hawk families and prospective students, Mrs. Olson enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, thrifting, and reading.

Amanda Rosales, C-SLDI, M. Ed.

Dean of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; English Dept. Head; College & Career Counselor

With over 30 years in education, Mrs. Rosales joined the Hill School faculty in 2013. She earned her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University and her Master’s of Education from Texas Wesleyan University. She has five Texas State Board of Education certifications and is an International Dyslexia Association Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist and Orton-Gillingham trainer. Mrs. Rosales believes that all students “learn in different ways, at different speeds and have different strengths and struggles.” Mrs. Rosales loves to do puzzles, read, and play board games with her husband, their two daughters, and pet tortoise April.

Maddie Sims

Director of Marketing & Communication

Maddie Sims joined Hill School as the Director of Marketing and Communication in 2024, bringing with her a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Abilene Christian University. Prior to her role at Hill School, Maddie gained experience in advertising through various creative agencies in Fort Worth. Coming from a family of educators, she values the significant role that educators and schools play in student development and is enthusiastic about using her creative skills to effectively share Hill School’s story. Outside of her professional life, Maddie enjoys traveling with her family, supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, and spending time with her husband and their corgi, Pickles.

Jennifer Bachew

Math & Science Teacher

Jennifer Bachew joined Hill School in July 2019. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Before coming to Hill, Mrs. Bachew taught Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Anatomy at Chicago Christian High School and also tutored students in math, science, and standardized test prep for the ACT and SAT. Her interests include being active outdoors, reading, and spending quality time with her family. At Hill, she values the opportunity to challenge students to reach their full potential, foster meaningful relationships, and continue growing as an educator. A unique chapter of her life includes spending 20 years on the island of Trinidad, where she served as a missionary and homeschooled her two (now grown) children.

Eileen Bain

Science Department Chair

Eileen Bain joined Hill School as an innovative Science instructor in 2011 after teaching in parochial school for several years. Before moving to Texas with her 5 children and finding her true calling in education, Ms. Bain worked as an occupational therapist in Louisiana. She studied at LSU Medical Center where she earned her bachelor’s degree and has teaching certification through UTA. “Blending my educational beliefs with my personal experiences made me realize that learning is possible for all children if one takes the time to discover how they learn best.” She is the mother of five wonderful, talented, grown children and mamaw to five fantastic grandchildren; football season finds her cheering for Duke, Tulane, LSU, UNC, UNT, A&M, TCU, WSU, and MSU to appease each of them. Mrs. Bain likes working at Hill School because she loves the challenge of teaching students with unique talents.

Jonah Copeland

Music Teacher

Jonah Copeland joined Hill School as our Music Teacher in 2024. With extensive experience teaching music, choir, theater, and percussion, Mr. Copeland brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Music and Vocal Performance from Texas Wesleyan University and completed a certificate program at Convergence School of Ministry. At Hill School, Mr. Copeland enjoys blending his passion for music with his commitment to helping students develop crucial executive function skills. Versatile in his musical talents, he sings across genres from opera to rock ‘n’ roll and enjoys playing the guitar in his spare time.

Chris Errico

Math Teacher

Chris Errico began her teaching career in public schools before joining Hill School in 2001. She is passionate about helping students who learn differently discover their strengths and achieve success. Mrs. Errico earned her degree in Special Education from the University of West Florida and firmly believes that “all kids can learn.” She currently leads Hill School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes, reflecting her commitment to supporting students both academically and spiritually. Mrs. Errico is married to a former Hill School teacher, and together they’ve spent many years investing in the school community. She is also the proud mother of three children, including two Hill School graduates. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.

Blanca Gonzalez

Spanish Teacher

Born and raised in Spain, Blanca Gonzalez moved to the United States in 2001. She joined the Hill School faculty in 2013 and enjoys the small classes and the teaching environment where her goal is “to motivate students toward a level of independence where they develop a desire to learn and think for themselves.” She has her master’s degree in Foreign Language and Literature from the University of Alcala de Henares in Madrid and has taught every age of student, from kindergarten to the college level. Maestra Gonzalez enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter (who is bi-lingual). She has also been involved in volunteer work with the American Cancer Society and the Red Cross.

Elaine Gustafson

Art Teacher

Elaine Gustafson has been part of the Hill School Fine Arts team since 2018, bringing with her a diverse background in education that includes teaching preschool, kindergarten and intermediate school. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from Texas A&M University. With a deep passion for art education, Elaine is dedicated to creating a welcoming and inspiring environment where students feel safe to express themselves and explore their unique talents. She believes the art room should be a safe space for creativity and growth- guided by the belief that “Every child is an artist!” – Pablo Picasso. Outside of the classroom, Elaine enjoys traveling, photography, reading, decorating, cooking and spending time with her husband of 30 years and their five grown children.

Christi Hanson

Math Department Chair

Christi Hanson has been an integral part of the Hill School community for many years. She treasures the opportunity to connect with students in Hill’s close-knit environment and enjoys watching their growth throughout the year. Mrs. Hanson earned her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies—with a focus on math, education, and sports and exercise science—from West Texas A&M University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She strives to be a “fair yet consistent educator with high expectations while still fostering a sense of success” in her students. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Hanson can often be found cheering on her two daughters at volleyball games alongside her husband.

Joel Jackson ’09

History Teacher

Joel Jackson brings a strong passion for education to his role as Upper and Middle School Social Studies teacher at Hill School. A graduate of Hill himself, he spent over a decade connected to the school community before formally joining the faculty. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Oklahoma Christian University. Drawing from his own journey of growth and perseverance, Mr. Jackson is dedicated to inspiring students and fostering a love of learning. Outside the classroom, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, as well as exploring the outdoors, and collecting vintage postcards.

Emily Kretchmar

English & History Teacher; Fine Arts Department Chair

Emily Kretchmar joined the Hill School faculty in 2013 after several years working at both the college level and in a public school setting. She earned her English degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, having graduated Summa Cum Laude, and has an M.A. in Classical Studies from Tulane University. She enjoys working at Hill School because both “the students and faculty are friendly and eager.” She believes that students are all endowed with unique qualities and gifts and she looks forward to helping Hill students be advocates for themselves.

Martha Leschber

3rd Grade Teacher

With over 30 years of experience in education, Martha Leschber is passionate about nurturing young learners and helping them grow both academically and personally. She has taught 1st through 3rd grade and joined the Lower School at Hill School in 2022, where she continues to create a supportive, engaging classroom environment. A proud graduate of Texas Christian University, Martha holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology, along with a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Reading. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering a lifelong love of learning, meeting students where they are, and helping them grow through encouragement, structure, and genuine care.

Jeff Nichols

American Sign Language Teacher

Jeff Nichols joined the Hill School faculty in 2024 as our American Sign Language teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from The University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s in Bilingual Education from Southern Methodist University. With a strong background in ASL, including extensive coursework and experience as a certified ASL teacher and interpreter, Mr. Nichols has taught in a variety of settings both domestically and internationally. His teaching experience spans countries such as Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, China, Taiwan, Haiti, and Guatemala, where he has witnessed the powerful role of sign language in bridging communication gaps. Outside of school, Mr. Nichols enjoys spending time with his wife, their four children, and seven grandchildren.

Joanna Perez

English Teacher

Joanna Perez joined Hill School in 2020 after dedicating 23 years to public education in Everman ISD. She holds a B.A. in Communication from The University of Texas at Arlington. With a deep commitment to nurturing confidence and academic growth in her students, she brings both experience and heart to the Middle School English classroom. Ms. Perez is passionate about meeting students where they are and guiding them toward their fullest potential through individualized instruction and encouragement. Outside of school, Ms. Perez enjoys reading, cooking, relaxing by the beach, and spending quality time with her family—especially her two granddaughters, who are the joy of her life.

Zach Schleicher ’03

5th Grade Teacher

With a Bachelor’s from Columbia College and more than 16 years of experience teaching Special Education, Zach Schleicher is a valued member of the Hill School community as our 5th grade teacher. A proud member of Hill’s first graduating class in 2003, Mr. Schleicher also helped pioneer the Hill High School program—so much so that one of the hallways is named in his honor. He believes that students thrive best in a safe, nurturing environment that supports their growth and learning. Outside the classroom, Mr. Schleicher enjoys gardening, reading, and playing video games with his wife.

Melissa Stenholm

Lower School Teacher

As a third-generation teacher with a Master’s Degree in Instruction and Curriculum, Melissa Stenholm brings a deep passion for education to the classroom. Mrs. Stenholm believes in cultivating confident, curious, and resilient lifelong learners, equipped with the knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking skills needed to thrive in a changing world. She believes every student has a unique light to shine and considers it a privilege to help them discover and amplify it. Mrs. Stenholm lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Cole, and their two feline friends, Lucky and Barbies. When the school day ends, you can often find her unwinding with yoga or Pilates and getting ready for another great day at Hill School!

Adam Vance

Science Teacher

Adam Vance brings a wealth of experience to Hill School as a Middle and Upper School science teacher. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from Tarleton State University and spent 28 years teaching in public schools, where he was twice honored as Teacher of the Year at Everman High School. Mr. Vance is passionate about guiding students to reach their personal goals and thrive academically. Outside of teaching, he enjoys antiquing, collecting Bauer pottery and board games, and photography. He and his wife are proud parents of twin boys.

Madison Waller

4th Grade Teacher

Ms. Waller is in her second year at Hill School and is excited to continue growing with this amazing community. Originally from Colorado, she has a background in psychology and is currently completing her master’s degree in counseling. Her passion lies in creating a safe and supportive classroom where every student feels valued, heard, and encouraged to take risks in their learning. She believes that mistakes are an important part of the journey and that confidence develops when students know it is okay to try, fail, and try again. Ms. Waller looks forward to another great year of learning and discovery with her students.

Brian Worley

English Teacher; History Department Chair; Yearbook Advisor

Brian Worley is now in his 17th year of teaching at Hill School, having joined the Hill School family in 2008. Mr. Worley earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. He loves to read, spends too much money on vinyl records, and likes watching basketball and baseball. Mr. Worley enjoys the “daily challenge of finding better or different ways of explaining the world” to his students, which, he says, enhances his own understanding of the world. Mr. Worley appreciates that Hill School’s supportive environment allows him to grow and learn as he’s helping his students to do the same. He and his wife Sarah have a 5^th grader and a 9^th grader at home, ensuring that his nights and weekends are as full (and fulfilling) as his days.
