A Foundation for Future Success

Our thoughtfully designed curriculum and tailored environment help maximize our youngest students’ abilities and potential while laying the foundation for future success.

The kindergarten program follows our full school day schedule: 8:15 AM to 3:25 PM, Monday through Friday.

Early Learning

With our youngest learners, early intervention can have the most impact. Our goal is to help our kindergarten students gain strategies and skills that will allow them to transition into a more traditional school environment after just a few years at Hill.

Kindergarten Focus

  • Using manipulatives to act out problems, kinesthetic games to work on key concepts, and a focus on subtraction and addition sentences.

  • Using manipulatives to blend words, various phonemic and phonological games, and the use of leveled readers.

  • Proper sentence structure, high-frequency words, comprehension, story elements, parts of speech, and vocabulary taught using Orton-Gillingham strategies.

  • Learning through movement, games, crafts, and writing.

  • Experiments and investigations to engage their curious minds.

  • Social thinking initiatives that show students how to learn, engage, and build relationships in a school environment.
