Key School and Hill School students have partnered to foster meaningful relationships and create shared experiences through a series of collaborative events. Initially starting with fun and games at a meet and greet, our students got to know each other and found community amongst one another having shared language-based learning differences.
Then, our collaboration culminated with two community service projects at the Tarrant County Food Bank distribution center in Fort Worth, TX, serving neighbors across the North Texas areas. These interactions promote camaraderie, teamwork, and community engagement while providing opportunities for our students to have social connections with peers who also have learning differences. The majority of students who attend a school that specializes in learning differences come to us with guards up, looking for a place of belonging and understanding. With this collaboration, Key School and Hill School fulfill a promise to our students that they can build confidence, practice effective communication and develop lasting relationships.
